PROGRAM DETAILS

Mackinac Island Honor Scouts

Mackinac Island Honor Scouts (MIHS) are a group of sixty-five 7-12th grade Girl Scouts who give service to the State of Michigan by acting as official guides at Fort Mackinac and other historic sites on Mackinac Island for one week in July.

As a MIHS, you'll conduct daily flag ceremonies at 26 flag stations, assist tourists with information and directions and participate in several service projects while on the island. You'll also participate in five trainings throughout the year where they learn the history of Mackinac Island , flag procedures, marching, develop leadership skills and much more.

The competition is fierce, so make sure to attend the MIHS Informational Meeting to talk with Honor Scouts and the Program Director about how to complete your application to highlight all the amazing things you have done in Girl Scouting. Applications due October 30 each year.
