Counselor In Training
This is a 23-day course given at Camp Anna Behrens. Learn the skills you need to become a camp counselor. During Sessions 2 and 3, CIT's practice teaching methods and leadership techniques. You will be covering group dynamics, age characteristics, practicing first aid and CPR, as well as the basic day-to-day responsibilities of being a camp counselor. During Session 4 you will work under the supervi-sion of staff as you observe and help out in several different programs, as well as in the administrative support services of camp.
Successful completion of this program satisfies the prerequisite for Counselor in Training II.
Counselor In Training II
Experience the challenges and rewards of working with younger girls in the out-of-doors. This is a 25-day course given at Camp Anna Behrens. If you have completed the CIT I program, you can join us to continue your training. Practice the skills you began developing in CIT I. This advanced course allows you to specialize in an area of your interest, working towards a proficiency in a special area of camp life. Complete a camp project. Take the extra time to do a job well. Learn the tricks of the trade and spend time working directly with girls after project completion.
