New Experiences, New Friends!

Being a Daisy Girl Scout is a great way for a girl who is just starting school to make friends and gain confidence! Daisies usually meet a couple times per month, in groups of 5 to 10 girls with two or more trained adult leaders in a nurturing, inclusive environment. They go on trips, learn about nature and science, and explore the arts and their communities. Daisy Girl Scouts can also earn Learning Petals and receive participation patches. Petals can be worn on official uniform, but uniforms are not required in Girl Scouting.

Typical Activities for Daisy Girl Scouts

  • Creating arts and crafts projects like colorful barrettes and paper-bag puppets
  • Taking trips to pick pumpkins and apples
  • Camping and hiking with their family
  • Planning a picnic and making snacks
  • Planting a community garden
  • Earning patches for activities like making costumes and marching in a parade or caroling at a nursing home
  • Selling Gur to family and friends and earning fun awards and troop funds for outings.
  • Take part in a GSUSA Journey - an eight week themed program developed just for them!
