The Betsy Cutler House

History

Betsy Cutler is a lifetime Girl Scout and former leader who also enjoyed Girl Scouting while growing up in Illinois. As Michigan Pine & Dunes Councils Board President for two terms, Betsy helped bring a dream to reality. Through the purchase of what is now referred to as The Betsy Cutler House, girls and volunteers, as well as other members of the community, now have year-round facilities and grounds for educational use, including trainings, badge workshops, day camps, special events, and troop overnights for groups in and out of our Council area.

The 26 acre property is conveniently located off US 31 in North Muskegon.

Facilities include:

  • 7 bathrooms with 3 showers
  • fully equipped kitchen
  • sleeping space and mats for 50
  • pool (must have own certified lifequard/seasonal)
  • picnic tables
  • grill
  • open area for games (equipment available upon prior request)
  • outdoor amphitheater and firepit,
  • four ponds, a wetlands walkway, and nature trails for nature exploration
